The main character in Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT. He's also the most powerful, and in most cases, is always the one that destroys the evil villains that plague the Earth. He was sent to the Earth from Planet Vegeta as an infant to destroy it but after being dropped on his head, he had forgotten to carry out this mission and became one of the good guys. Goku was the first to become Super Saiyan Levels 1, 3, and 4 although he eventually reaches them all. Goku is married to Chi-chi and has two sons, Gohan and Goten.

Trademark Abilities: Kamehameha, Solar Flare, Kaioken, Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb), and Instant Transmission

He is the Prince of what used to be Planet Vegeta and also of all Saiyans. This is not hard to remember for he reminds Goku and many of his opponents just exactly who he is. He is a lot of times very ignorant but only when his ego gets in the way. Vegeta charishes his pride only to have it shattered by Goku when he surpasses him in strength. He used to work for Freeza by clearing planets and getting them ready for sale up until he was strong enough to take him on. Vegeta manages to reach the Super Saiyan levels of 1, 2, and 4. He is with Bulma (not sure if they marry or not) and has a son named Trunks and a daughter named Bra.

Trademark Abilities: Big Bang, Gallit Gun, and Final Flash

Gohan is capable of becoming the strongest being in the universe only to give up fighting in exchange for studying to make his mother happy. He does save the world and his friends many times and was the one that put an end to Cell. He was the first one to go Super Saiyan Level 2 and also becomes Mystic during the Buu Saga. He is strongest when his friends are in danger since that is the trigger for most of his power. Gohan eventually marries Videl and has a daughter named Pan.

Trademark Abilities: Masenko and Kamehameha

Comes from a time where almost all the Z Fighters are dead except for himself. He travels to the past in a time machine in hopes of warning Goku and the others about the Androids that killed everyone in his time. Trunks was successful in changing the future of that timeline but what he didn't count on is how much it changed. He was the one who finally put an end to Freeza by using his Burning Attack and eventually killed the Androids in his time. Trunks manages to acheive Super Saiyan and also Ultra Super Saiyan during the time he spent in the timeline we know. Unfortunately for him though, the only family he has left in his time is his mother, Bulma.

Trademark Abilities: Burning Attack and Gallit Gun

The Trunks that exists in the present timeline or in the timeline that we know (sounds confusing, doesn't it?) He acheives Super Saiyan at the age of 8 and is good friends with Goten. Chibi Trunks learned to fight from his father, Vegeta, who wants Trunks to be stronger than Goku's two sons, Gohan and Goten. He can go Super Saiyan Level 3 when he fuses with Goten to become Gotenks during the Buu Saga. He could be much stronger but he isn't do to the fact that him and Goten goof off so much.

Trademark Abilities: Final Flash

Goten is Goku's second son whom he never meets until he is wished back for a day seven years later. He learned how to fight from his mother Chi-chi and became Super Saiyan during one of their training sessions. Goten is the youngest Saiyan to become a Super Saiyan as he is only 7 years old when he does. He looks a lot like Goku and is as carefree as him too. Goten, along with Trunks, could be much stronger than he is now but is not since the two goof off so much. He can also become Super Saiyan Level 3 when he is fused with Trunks (Gotenks).

Trademark Abilities: Kamehameha

The result of the fusion of Goku and Vegeta with Vegeta being the dominent character. They reach this form when they fuse using the Potarra Earrings. However, Vegeta despises this form so he destroys the earrings and thus we only see this fusion once.

Trademark Abilities: N/A

The result of the fusion of Goten and Trunks. They reach this form by doing what is called the "Fusion Dance" and it ends in the two pushing into each other's bodies. Gotenks has reached Super Saiyan Levels 1 and 3 in this form.

The result of the fusion of Goku and Vegeta with Goku being the dominent character. They reach this form by doing the "Fusion Dance". Their first attempt at this was a failure resulting in fat Gogeta and another attempt resulted in skinny Gogeta. If done right however, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta is the strongest in the universe.
